Alumni help students help others through medical missions

The outstanding legacy we, as alumni, leave is not only one of commitment to improving the health of our communities, but one that involves sharing time and resources with future physicians.  Gifts to the Wayne State University Medical Alumni Annual Fund support activities and organizations that enhance the lives of medical students as well as SOM projects.  Examples are:

  • medical student scholarships and loans;
  • student activities, including community outreach programs, Match Day, the Student Senate retreat, Career Day, Family Day, the welcome ceremony, the honors program and maintenance of the student fitness center;
  • summer research fellowships;
  • an investment fund to support academic and student programs;
  • student research projects during Research Week;
  • the Richard J. Mazurek, M.D., Medical Education Commons.

 

Be Part of the Legacy and Make a Gift


Each fall, during the months of October and November, and the month of March, students and alumni volunteers call graduates of the School of Medicine to request financial gifts that support the Alumni Annual Fund.  This year our goal is $492,165. If you'd be willing to help make these telephone calls, you might well bump into a classmate you haven't seen since you graduated. If not, you'll have done your School a great service.
